Annual New Year’s Eve Fest at Family Leisure Centre

Medicine Hat – The Family Leisure Centre will host an array of fun family activities from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve – Saturday, December 31. Admission is $2 per person.

“It’s important to us that your entire family can have something fun to do together when ringing in the New Year,” says Natalie Sauer, Recreation Superintendent for the City of Medicine Hat. “The recent expansion to our facility really lets us offer activities for all ages.”

The following activities are included with your admission:
Swimming featuring the Blue Monster Waterslide – Swim times are regulated in order to maintain capacity levels. Swim tickets for one of two swimming times (5:00 – 6:20 p.m. and 6:40 – 8:00 p.m.) may be picked up upon entry. Thank you to the Dream Centre Church for supplying this towering blow-up waterslide, which has become a ‘must-have’ at special community events.
Skating – ice will be cleared & flooded as required
Obstacle Course, Jumping Castles and games – in  the Fieldhouse
Wheelchair Basketball – Chairs are supplied and volunteers will teach you how to shoot hoops from a seated position.
Tot Time – get those wiggles out with our gross motor equipment.
Pickleball – try the newest craze in adult recreation!
Disco Dance – in the Sage Room
“Slithering Into the New Year” Crafts – in the Play Room
Hot Dogs and Hot Chocolate – while supplies last

Patrons can also look forward to a special countdown to the New Year at 7:30 in the main lobby.

For safety reasons, the Fitness Area on the second floor of the Family Leisure Centre will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on December 31 and will remain closed for the duration of the New Year’s Eve Fest. The KIN-cession will be open. 

The New Year’s Eve Fest is organized by the City of Medicine Hat Parks and Recreation Department. 

The Family Leisure Centre will be open from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
