In this new role, reporting to the General Manager, Human Resources, the Manager, Employment and Job DescriptionDevelopment will be responsible for researching, developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies to source talent. Responsibilities also include the anticipation of the City's needs for workforce growth, selection and retention strategies as well as assessing organizational needs and developing strategies related to workforce/succession planning, learning and development and employee engagement.

In this leadership role, you will market the City of Medicine Hat as a great place to live and work in an uncompromising way and will provide direction, advice and guidance to the Human Resources Consultants engaged in the development of human resources policy and recruitment and retention of members of the City's workforce.

As a vital partner to City operations, you are pro-active and solutions oriented and are committed to ensuring excellent service delivery. You bring a minimum of seven (7) years' experience working in a senior recruitment role developing strategic recruitment plans, including four (4) years' supervisory experience. A forward and strategic thinker, you will foster relationships both internally and externally. You will ensure the continued success of attracting top talent into the organization to ensure the City’s vision and direction are met.
